Go nuts...for donuts!!!

I tell my students everyday that they are the best first grade class at ELA! I tell them that it is a secret and they shouldn't tell others because someone might get their feelings hurt. They think that is so cool and sometimes when I say it they make me whisper! ;)
Well??? It's true!
They prove it to me everyday! Yesterday they received a compliment while patiently and quietly waiting their turn to go to the library...which BTW...was very rushed and crazy!!! This compliment was not just any compliment! It was THE compliment that completed the much anticipated "Go nuts...for doughnuts" compliment incentive!
So... today they enjoyed Dunkin Donuts for snack!!! And not just any donuts mind you...vanilla, chocolate, and sprinkles! Sugar overload consumed my classroom in the final 15 minutes of school and then I sent them home...to you!!!

Your welcome!

Special Snack

Kyan and his mother shared some yummy chocolate covered Oreos with our class today! They were decorated to look like apples! Very cute and perfect for a back to school snack! I have a feeling everyone enjoyed them!
See what you think....

Thanks Kyan!!!...oh yeah, and Kyan's mom! ;)

Gavin R. is going to help an old man with a walker across the street! You go superhero!!!!

I LOVE that Kyan is going to be a superhero by sleeping late and having weapons?!!! I think this came from a class discussion about being healthy and getting lots of rest! And we said that weapons are like tools! SO.....Go SUPER KYAN!!!

And when it comes to superheroes....Tyler is going all the way by saving a girl who is falling off of a mountain! WHOA!                                                                                     So I am not so sure that they fully understand the concept of superheroes "at school" but everyone came up with some great ideas AND they were able to draw and write about them! It was a fun day!!!                            Is it a bird??? a plane??? NO NO..... it's Ms. Millard's Firsties!!!!!
